Bonus List

TEN STATES WITH THE GREATEST LAND BIRD DENSITY (AND FIVE WITH THE LOWEST)

The Midwest and the Mid-Atlantic are the two regions of the United States with the most birds per square mile, based on the Partners in Flight Landbird Population Estimate Database. This is likely because of the large number of habitats, including rivers, lakes, forests and fields. The Interior West states have the fewest.
