METH LAB CITIES: U.S. CITIES WITH THE MOST RESIDENCES ON THE NATIONAL CLANDESTINE LABORATORY REGISTER
Here are the cities with the most residences registered as having meth labs between 2004 and 2010, according to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. A lot of cities (plus numerous small towns not on this list which would rank very high on a per capita basis) containing large numbers of residences on this register are in the Lower Midwest and Upper South (especially where the two areas meet) and the West. An especially high concentration is along Interstate 44 through Missouri and Oklahoma; note that Springfield, Missouri ranks #11 and a small town of about 4000, Fenton, Missouri (an exurb of St. Louis), ranks #19 (one could say I-44 is to meth what Highway 101 is to marijuana).
