List from Chapter 1
LARGEST U.S. CITIES TO SHARE THEIR NAMES WITH NO OTHER WORLD CITIES
A number of cities in the United States have completely unique names. Here are the ten most populous cities in the United States to have no other cities with the same name anywhere in the world.
1. Seattle, Washington
2. Fort Worth, Texas
3. New Orleans, Louisiana*
4. Virginia Beach, Virginia
5. Colorado Springs, Colorado
6. Anaheim, California**
7. Hialeah, Florida
8. Shreveport, Louisiana
9. Lubbock, Texas
10. Newport News, Virginia
This list excludes "Oklahoma City" since numerous towns are named "Oklahoma" and hyphenated names comprising of 2 redundant names, like "Nashville-Davidson" or "Winston-Salem" (while those hyphenated names are technically unique, "Nashville", "Davidson", "Winston" and "Salem" are not).
* No other English-language "New Orleans" names exist, though there is a Nueva Orleans, Colombia.
** No other city is spelled like Anaheim, though there is an Annaheim in Saskatchewan, Canada.
