These are the 14,000-foot mountains which are furthest from the nearest 14,000-foot (above sea level) neighbor. Note that "subpeaks" (which are a part of the same mountain) are not considered a neighbor.

The United States has many mountains that are just above 14,000 feet above sea level, yet it only has two on this list. Mountains which are substantially higher than 14,000 feet tend to have enough high terrain nearby that a 14,000 foot peak (or even just a plateau of that height) will often be nearby.
