COUNTRIES WITH THE LOWEST PER CAPITA INCOMES WHICH HAVE PLEDGED TO HELP THE UNITED STATES IN THE AFTERMATH OF HURRICANE KATRINA

As of September 5, more than 60 countries around the world have pledged to help the United States. This includes most of the rich countries (such as Germany, France, Canada, the UK and Australia) but also many developing countries (including those which have received much-needed aid in recent years, such as Sri Lanka (ranked #11 in this category), Indonesia and Honduras (Hurricane Mitch). Even Afghanistan pledged $100,000. Here are the poorest countries to have pledged to help the United States, listed with their respective per capita Gross Domestic Products (GDP).
